Mr. Beason was born in San Pedro, California. His father was a research chemist and as a result Mr. Beason spent time in San Pedro, California, Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Huntsville, Alabama, Bristol, Pennsylvania and eventually Clear Lake, Texas. He is a graduate of Clear Lake High School and finds it ironic that he now lives on the other side of the Lake and his children are scheduled to attend Clear Creek High School.

After graduating from high school he attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Graduating from Baylor University after only 3 years of undergraduate studies, he started law school at Baylor University. Mr. Beason graduated from law school after 3 years and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1986. He is licensed to practice law in every state and federal court in the State of Texas. He is admitted to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals located in New Orleans.

Mr. Beason was also admitted to practice before the US Supreme Court in December, 2000 and was sworn in by Chief Justice William Rehinquist on the very day that Bush v. Gore was argued before the US Supreme Court.

Mr. Beason has extensive courtroom and trial experience. During the late 1980s and early 1990s Mr. Beason tried numerous personal injury cases before the courts of Harris, Galveston and Montgomery Counties. He has tried workers compensation cases, auto accident cases, premises defect cases and medical malpractice cases. During this time he also tried to cases before the Bankruptcy Court of the US Southern District of Texas. Because of his extensive first chair trial experience he was eligible to and successfully completed the Board Examinations to become Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law in 1993 after only 7 years of obtaining his law license. That same year he became eligible to and successfully completed the Board Examination to become Board Certified in Civil Trial Law.

Mr. Beason has held and maintained his Board Certifications in both Personal Injury Trial Law and Civil Trial Law as offered by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. The first 12 years of his practice were spent at the Litigation Boutique Firm of Funderburk & Funderburk, He worked there as an Associate until 1993 when he was made a Partner in the firm. In 1994 he administered the firms Silicosis Docket in representing Willson Manufacturing (a manufacturer of Respirators) in various cases throughout the state of Texas. As the silicosis grew nationwide his responsibility on the Silicosis Docket grew also. During this time period he represented various manufacturers on the silicosis docket including Sandblasting pot manufacturers, equipment distributors, respirator manufacturers, paper dust mask manufacturers and foundry suppliers. During this time period he was admitted to practice and did appear in State Court cases pending in numerous states including Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Missouri, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, California, Washington, Hawaii, Oklahoma, Arkansas, North Dakota and Oregon. During the height of the Silicosis Docket he was asked to serve as National Coordinating Counsel by and on behalf of several of his clients. At one time he had the responsibility for overseeing 45,000 claimants spread across 16 states. Mr. Beason’s prominence in the silicosis litigation resulted in his being asked to speak at several National Silicosis Conferences. In 2003 he chaired the Annual Silicosis Conference in Boston, Massachusetts. He has also authored numerous Silicosis related Articles for the Harris-Martin Publishing’s Silicosis Newsletter and Mealey’s Slicosis Newsletter.

In 2003, Mr. Beason started the firm of Beason-Willingham. LLP and stayed with that firm until 2008. The firm specialized in Toxic Tort Litigation and Mass Tort litigation.

Because of his extensive toxic tort and mass tort litigation experience, Mr. Beason was approached by his clients and asked to take the Louisiana Bar Examination. In 2005 he passed the Louisiana Bar Exam and was admitted to practice in Louisiana. Because of his work in Louisiana he lived in Baton Rouge for approximately 6 months while overseeing his firm’s toxic tort docket in asbestosis, silicosis and welding rod fume cases. Prior to 2008, he had taken more than 1,500 toxic tort depositions in almost all of the 48 continental United States. During the same time Mr. Beason developed great admiration and respect for numerous trial attorneys who represented the injured workers in those cases, some of which lawyers are current members of Bailey & Galyen.

In 2008, Mr. Beason decided to relocate his practice to his home town of League City and decided to emphasize his attention to Family law matters, which he has been doing since that time. Mr. Beason has handled numerous family law matters including divorces, child custody cases, modification cases, adoptions and child support modifications. During this same time period he has tried numerous family law cases in Galveston and Harris Counties.

Mr. Beason represents Bailey & Galyen’s clients in family law matters in Harris and its surrounding counties.
