Eric was born in Baton Rogue, Louisiana though his family moved to Southeast, Texas when he was five years old. Eric grew up in Port Neches, Texas where he lived until he graduated from high school. For his college education Eric moved to Nacogdoches, Texas. There he attended Stephen F. Austin State University, a rapidly growing state college, and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in General Business. While in college Eric was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma which is the premier honor society recognizing business excellence, and also a member of Alpha Gamma Rho which is a social and agricultural fraternity. Eric wanted to experience life in a bigger city and moved to Fort Worth to attend Texas Wesleyan University School of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctorate. Once he got use to the traffic he was ready to adopt DFW as his own. During law school Eric volunteered at the legal clinic handling family law matters such as divorces and adoptions for people who lived in the county who were below the poverty line. He was a student clerk in the Dee J. Kelly Law Library, and a student associate for LexisNexis which is one of – if not the foremost – online legal database platforms operating today.
Eric is passionate about his family and his beloved calico cat, Ivy. In his free time Eric enjoys getting his hands dirty whether it involves doing home improvement projects to his condo, or enjoying time outdoors at a state or national park hiking the trials. Eric’s favorite charity is Habitat for Humanity, even if they do not let him use the power tools as much as he would like.
Eric has been licensed to practice law in Texas since May 2014 and practiced criminal law for two and a half years before joining Bailey & Galyen in January 2017 in its Workers’ Compensation department protecting injured employee’s rights. Eric believes in hard work and in zealously representing those people who work hard as well but just had the misfortune of getting hurt on the job. He is currently a member of the State Bar of Texas.
